You would think that working together everyday, running businesses, working on BB and running a TV show we would be ready to run the other way from each other. But honestly we can’t get enough of each other. We’re the kind of family that get things done, have fun and do it all over again while cooking out and talking about the day.
Don’t get me wrong there are those times with family that you just want to smack them but it’s because you know exactly how to push their buttons and vice-versa. Things are crazy in the world as it is but the one constant in life is family and you should truly cherish it because nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.
We work hard in all that we do but we also work hard even in the yard at home (and each others yards). Rachel and James bought a house and have 2 dogs that pretty much need to be put outside thanks to the messes they enjoy making inside the new home. Well we decided to help build them a fence the same weekend we helped Leah move. So after a long day of moving countless items out of Leah’s apartment and driving a few hours to Rachel’s we jumped out and started building a fence. I’m not going to lie either, I was just flat out tired because it was hot, it had been a long day and I was eyeballing the blueberry pie that Rach had just made wanting to indulge in it rather than work on a fence. On the other hand Dad is a haus and he gets things done like you just can’t imagine. He literally never stops. He looks at us and says “come on girls grab those boards, grab the tools and let’s get this done before it rains (as crazy thunder clouds roll up in the lightning capital of the world).
We built the fence, had a great time even though we were working hard. That’s what it’s about is coming together with people you love and enjoying the time you have together. People always ask us “why don’t you hire someone to build that or paint that?” And our reply to that is “why in the world would you hire someone when you can do it yourself (of if you are capable of taking a stab at it)? People forget to do things for themselves and get caught up in the world way too often. If you work hard things will fall into place and it will make you stronger. It all starts with family but it’s also up to you.
Oh and the photos were taken by Rachel (look at the sweet Maja working hard). *side note* We call Mom…Maja. Thanks for reading and make sure to check out more of our “behind the scenes” here at BB. We end this by singing Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried” Dad’s favorite song……Cold beer on a Friday night, a pair of jeans that fit just right and the radio uppppppppp…….
