Even Donut Shops Deal With The Crazy Angry Customers

Have you ever passed by Krispy Kreme and smelled the goodness they pump out of that place? Oh I can smell it now…okay beside the point but a viewer wrote this into us the other day for “Dear Robert” and we had to share because it was too funny not to. This was sent in by Jason Weaver:

“My family owns a small donut shop in North Carolina and I have been working there since I was young so I have seen bad customers come in and out before but this one was priceless. A woman walked in with her 2 kids one late Tuesday afternoon to order 3 chocolate covered donuts and 1 strawberry jelly filled donut. We had a large order go out that morning that took a good bit of the jelly donuts and then of course throughout the day we had eventually run out of the batch we made. When I informed the lady there were no more of the jelly filled she looked at me and said “I don’t care go back there and make one now.”

I explained to her that we don’t make them off hand and that I was sorry for the inconvenience and let us know what else we could get her and it would be on the house. Well she apparently didn’t care for that offer and replied with “you idiot, go back there right now and make me one because I said so.” At this point I was just floored at the comment. I told her again mam I am truly sorry but there is nothing I can do but more than happy to get you anything else on the house. After that she took the 3 chocolate donuts we had in the bag for her and threw them behind the counter saying “this is ridiculous and you people should not be in business!” My dad then walks out and says “Mam I think you need to leave because we apparently don’t fit your standards.” She tried to argue back and dad says again “Mam, just leave.” She stormed out and as I stood there with my mouth wide open the customers in the place clap for my dad saying “good for you, that’s just ridiculous.” That amazed me how she acted in front of us, her kids and the other customers. I guess it’s what you guys call a CUSTOMONSTER.”

Your show is great and it’s so refreshing to see business owners like you bring out the humor in owning a business. Because there are some days you wish you could just stay home and not have to deal with everyone at the office or store. Thanks for keeping things humorous and speaking the truth!”
